MEET WES BENEDICT

Picture
Wes Benedict is an engineer, small businessman, husband, father, and served as Executive Director of the Libertarian Party in Washington, D.C.

Most people realize the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq were mistakes, yet no one in Washington has the courage to end those tragedies.

The President and Congress keep growing government spending regardless of which party has control.

Wes Benedict will support legislation to end the wars and bring our troops home. He proposes cutting spending across the board by 25% to balance the budget.

Instead of asking what new program or law is needed in response to every problem, Wes asks, "What laws are causing the problem?"

What is a Libertarian?

Libertarians believe you should be able to do whatever you want as long as you aren't infringing on the equal rights of others. Conflict in our society is caused by people trying to force their opinions onto others. Libertarians oppose using force to change people. It's okay to try to persuade others to change, but it's not okay to use government force. Live and let live.

Libertarians serve in hundreds of local offices across the nation and hope to serve in Congress one day.

"I want your vote. But, whether we win or lose this election, your vote for a Libertarian helps put pressure on Congress to end these foolish wars, balance the budget, and to legalize marijuana."  - Wes Benedict

Downsize government 25%

Cut spending 25% across the board to balance the budget. Yes, that includes Social Security, Medicare, military and other spending. This will be tough, but the benefits enormous.

Legalize marijuana

Ending the war on drugs will reduce violence, save taxpayers money, and allow addicts easier access to care. Most states are making progress. It's time for Congress to act.

Easy immigration

Most immigrants come here to work. Studies show immigrants cost taxpayers less than the average citizen. I oppose the wall and support making it easier for people to immigrate legally.
